DFNC specific areas of concern include:


  • The incidence of underage drinking (alcohol) and understanding of underage drinking laws continues to be a problem and concern in Noble County

 

  • The use and abuse of alcohol by adults and awareness of effective treatment options continues to be a problem in Noble County


  • The use, manufacture and street distribution of methamphetamine continues to be a problem in Noble County


  • The use and street distribution of marijuana continues to be a problem in Noble County


  • The use and street distribution of prescription medications, synthetic cannabis, over the county, and other mind-altering substances continues to be a problem in Noble County

OUR FOCUS AREAS

Each year, Drug Free Noble County chooses the area(s) it will focus on, based on drug and alcohol trends in the region, as reported by law enforcement, treatment agencies, schools, a community-wide assessment, and other valuable resources. 

DFNC performance goals and measures used to determine overall impact of strategies/activities include:


  • Increase the perception of risk of ATOD's, with a specific focus on youth

    •  There will be an increase in the youth/young adult perception of risk of use of ATOD's of 5%, as measured by survey data 


  • Increase understanding of Indiana laws related to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (including underage drinking, possession, transport, sales of marijuana and synthetic cannabis, tobacco, and prescription drugs)

    • There will be a 10% increase in awareness of Indiana laws in regards to underage drinking, prescriptions, marijuana, synthetic stimulants, and tobacco


  • Reduce the use/abuse of ATOD's by adults in Noble County
    • There will be a 10% increase in the numbers of adults obtaining treatment, as measured by the local treatment center annual service numbers
